Professional Activities
The Honorable Pierre Journet is counsel to the firm and serves as an arbitrator in municipal, family, civil, and commercial matters. He served as a Judge of the Quebec Superior Court from 1995 to 2019 and as an Ad Hoc Judge at the Court of Appeal.
He focuses his practice primarily on expropriation and property assessment matters. He has worked extensively in these areas across Quebec, representing numerous municipalities as well as private corporations.
During his career as a lawyer, he was an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Quebec Bar, serving on several committees. He also worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, primarily on the reform of municipal tax laws.
He served as a consultant to the Auditor General of Quebec and represented the Quebec Bar in parliamentary committees during municipal tax reforms. He was also a member of the Association of Real Estate Law Professionals, the Canadian Property Tax Association, and the legal and advisory committee of the Canadian Property Tax Association.
